Episode Notes
In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") return to talk about the USC football team finishing off its 2026 Transfer Portal class with the addition of former Wisconsin tight end Tucker Ashcraft. The 6-foot-5, 257 pound tight end signed with USC Wednesday after playing 16 games for Wisconsin over the last two seasons with six starts. He has 22 career catches for 178 yards and two touchdowns. The portal window closes on Friday and there are no more additions expected by the Trojans for this cycle following the massive No. 1 ranked high school recruiting class that was brought in back in December.
The guys also give their thoughts on the ongoing search for the next USC defensive coordinator, with the name of former TCU head coach Gary Patterson coming up in more conversations as of late. Head coach Lincoln Riley wasn't in a hurry to make the hire, and with only one day left for players to enter the portal it is looking more and more likely that the hire will come after that portal window closes.
They finish up discussing what Ryan saw in Hawaii at the early Polynesian Bowl practices that unfortunately did not include the five Trojans signees that had accepted invitations to the game. Those players will show off their skills for the Poly Bowl game on Friday, but as new college students they just stuck around USC a little longer before making their way to Hawaii.
