Arsenal claimed a commanding 3-0 win in Prague as emergency striker Mikel Merino scored twice and Bukayo Saka opened the scoring from the spot, making it four wins from four in the Champions League.

The defence kept a club-equalling run of eight consecutive clean sheets — a record stretching back to 1903 — while Merino’s form and Saka’s clinical finishing underlined Arsenal’s depth and composure.

Teenage academy graduate Max Dowman (15 years, 308 days) became the youngest Champions League player, and the night also showcased other youngsters as Arteta rotated with confidence.
