World Champion Maxime Grousset took a decisive win in the 100 Fly in Austin tonight, touching in 50.95, the only swimmer under the 51-second barrier. Grousset beat the reigning world record holder, Caeleb Dressel, in the final. Dressel touched for 2nd in 51.62 Grousset was clear about his goals moving forward into this season: He wants to undercut Caeleb Dressel's world record in the 100 fly (he was .17 away last summer), and he wants revenge at the European Championships in Paris, the same pool where he missed winning an individual Olympic medal in 2024.
