It's a successful start: RB Leipzig kicked off the 2026 soccer season with a well-deserved 2-0 home win against SC Freiburg. The score could have been even higher, but the goals ultimately came from two set pieces. The game really picked up pace after the break. Two set-piece goals within three minutes broke the deadlock: first, Willi Orban scored with a header from a free kick by David Raum (53'), and shortly afterwards Romulo also scored with a header after Christoph Baumgartner had been denied by SCF keeper Noah Atubolu (56').
