The match opened with a dramatic first set that went to extra points, with Padova taking advantage of their home crowd to edge Perugia 28–26. That early momentum did not last long, as Perugia responded with authority in the second set, tightening their block and defense and taking control with a convincing 25–19 win. A key turning point came early in the match when Yuki Ishikawa was forced to leave the court after suffering a knee injury. Despite losing one of their key attackers, Perugia showed impressive depth and composure. Donovan Dzavoronok stepped in and made an immediate impact, contributing crucial points in attack, blocking, and from the service line. The third set was one of the most intense moments of the match, with both teams trading long rallies and momentum swings. Padova pushed Perugia to the limit, but Perugia held their nerve in the closing points to take the set 26–24 and move ahead in the match. In the fourth set, Perugia’s experience and physicality made the difference. Their blocking system dominated at the net, finishing the match with an outstanding total of 21 blocks, which repeatedly disrupted Padova’s offense and allowed Perugia to close the match 25–22. Simone Giannelli led the team with his usual precision and leadership and was named MVP of the match. Ben Tara was Perugia’s top scorer with 17 points, while Oleh Plotnytskyi added 15. Agustín Loser and Roberto Russo were also key contributors, each reaching double figures and playing a major role in Perugia’s dominant blocking performance.
