SMU vs. Sam Houston: The Mustangs went on the road and survived a fourth quarter run from the Bearkats to get a 73-69 victory. SMU was without several key players, but they still got their first road win of the season. SMU led Sam Houston by as many as 12 in the fourth quarter, but with 3:58 left, the game was tied. A 9-2 run provided the Mustangs with the lead they needed to finish out the win. Paulina Paris had a career night, scoring 18 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Off the bench, Jzaniya Harriel had 16 points and four rebounds.
