Joel Youngblood started August 4th, 1982 as a member of the New York Mets. After 2 at-bats against future Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins he was pulled from the game and told he had been traded to the Montreal Expos. He boarded a plane and played for the Expos that night against Steve Carlton and the Phillies. What happened next may never be replicated again in MLB history.
