The Miami Heat were absolutely EMBARRASSED by the Minnesota Timberwolves in a brutal 122–94 loss, and Heat Twitter immediately pointed the finger at Tyler Herro. But let’s be clear — Tyler Herro was NOT the reason Miami got blown out.
Herro returned and came off the bench exactly the way many fans (including myself) wanted, finishing with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Meanwhile, almost everyone else on the roster outside of Norman Powell struggled badly and couldn’t hit shots.
The bigger issue? The offense. The Miami Heat were one of the fastest-paced teams in the NBA before Tyler Herro returned. With Herro on the floor, the offense slows down, becomes more pick-and-roll heavy, and the scoring suffers — something we’ve seen multiple times this season. Scoring just 94 points raises serious questions about whether Erik Spoelstra can adjust the offense to maximize Tyler Herro without killing Miami’s pace.
In this episode of Miami Heat Talk, we break down the embarrassing loss, the unfair Herro backlash, the offensive struggles, and whether Spo needs to make real changes moving forward.
