In Winston-Salem, Wake Forest shot 42% from 3-point territory in the second half, with none bigger than Nate Calmese's 3-pointer with 6.9 seconds left to put them ahead for good to win 81-78. Calmese scored 16 of his 25 points in the second stanza and also added 7 assists on the afternoon. Wake scored 40 points in the paint, 19 second-chance points, and 19 points off of turnovers. Juke Harris and Tre'Von Spillers each notched 15 points for the Demon Deacons. Virginia Tech shot 47% from the field. Jailen Bedford had a big day, scoring 25 points with 5 rebounds, and Amani Hansberry scored 19 for VT.
