Who is Eligible? The award is exclusively for players earning their first Guinness Men’s or Women’s Six Nations senior cap in 2026. It celebrates those making the monumental step into Championship rugby, fostering a teamwork mentality, and delivering elite-level performances under the highest pressure. Weekly Updates Throughout every round, the Six Nations website and social channels will be the primary destination to track the frontrunners. The official Guinness Men's Six Nations show, Scrum Believable, will be casting their eye over the contenders from each round, predicting debutant impacts to breaking down match day highlights, giving fans a front row seat to the evolution of these rising stars. How the Winner is Decided The BKT Rising Player Award is determined by an expert panel of official broadcast partners from the Guinness Men’s and Women’s Six Nations. At the conclusion of Round 4, partners submit their nominations. Votes are then ranked and points assigned to determine who will join Sam Prendergast in the history books. Crowning the Champion The winners will be revealed at the conclusion of Round 5 with an announcement across global broadcast channels.
