The first 10 minutes of your runs don't have to suck!!! (and there will also reduce your risk of injury)
5-10 minutes of dynamic stretching and activations before you run makes SUCH a difference!
Here's what I do:
Roll out each foot with my R3 (it's from rollrecovery but a golf
or lacrosse ball works great too) & some rope assisted dynamic stretching
- Google is your friend here, there's SO much you can do so I'd focus on the areas you feel stiff/creaky
• light mini-band activations; 3-4 exercises tor 10-12 reps, some options are: kick backs, clamshells, standing clamshells, reverse clamshells, crab and monster walks for that JUICY JUICY BUTT
Some 90-90 hip switches because these hips get TIGHT
and then a few light squats or lunges
It doesn't need to be sexy or strenuous, you're just waking up the body so it's not starting cold out the door!
